Yiqara Hair Co. proudly serves our elders, with profound respect for those who’ve walked the path ahead of us. We bring our service to them at a discounted flat rate, with recurring booking available. Caring for those who experience limited accessibility, we bring professional hair care straight to where they’re most comfortable — a hospital bed, a wheelchair, or a favorite armchair. Every elder deserves to feel seen and beautifully cared for, at a price that respects a fixed income. Recurring weekly, monthly, or bimonthly bookings are available.
“Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”
Luke 12:7Being cared for is not a small thing. It never stops mattering.
There is something restful about sitting down and letting someone else take care of you for a while. A gentle, unhurried dry cut. Someone who remembers how you like your hair. A little conversation, if you feel like talking — and quiet, if you would rather not.
I come to your community with everything needed, so you can stay comfortable in a place you know. If standing or moving is difficult, that is completely fine. We will work with whatever is easiest for you, at whatever pace feels right.
For the women I care for, styling is offered on a weekly basis if desired — a little extra attention so you feel cared for and put together, week after week.
You are not an appointment. You are a person, and it is my honor to care for you.
Includes a fresh cut finished with a simple blow-out or curl styling.
Includes a full clean-up, beard shave, and haircut.
Offered at a specially discounted rate as our gift of extra care to the community.
Not sure what you would like? That is perfectly alright — we can decide together when I arrive.
All styling tools are brought along — a dry cut and style, no chair or wash station needed. Nothing is required from you or from the community.
Styling can be done seated in a wheelchair, a favorite armchair, or bedside. Comfort always comes first.
Mobile throughout King County, WA. A $25 travel fee applies beyond 10 miles, plus $5 for each additional 5 miles, once per visit.
You are welcome to reach out yourself, or have a family member or your activities director call on your behalf. Any of those is perfectly fine.
Let me know the community, the day that works, and roughly how many residents would like to be seen. There is no obligation in asking.
You will hear back within 24–48 hours. We will find a time that fits comfortably into your day — never during a meal or a favorite activity.
I arrive with everything needed, set up quietly, and take all the time you need. When we are finished, everything is packed away and left tidy.
Not at all. Services can be provided right in your room, or in the community salon or common area — whichever is most comfortable for you. Many residents prefer to stay right where they are.
That is completely fine and very common. Styling can be done while you are seated in your wheelchair or a comfortable chair, and we can take as many breaks as you would like. Nothing is ever rushed.
No. This is a dry cut and style — there is no chair or wash station to set up, and every tool needed is brought along. You do not need to prepare anything at all.
Yes, absolutely. Family members and community activity directors are all very welcome to call or send an inquiry on your behalf.
As often as is helpful. Many communities set up a standing monthly or twice-monthly salon day so residents know exactly when to expect a visit. One-time visits are just as welcome.
I would love to. Special occasion styling is one of my favorite things — just let me know the date and we will make sure you feel wonderful for it.
That is perfectly alright. We can talk it through when I arrive, and I am happy to suggest something that suits you. There is no pressure to decide ahead of time.
Whether it is a single visit or a standing salon day for your community, reach out and we will find a time that works comfortably for you.
